Polly V8 with Joel Hulen and Martin Costello
A new version of Polly is out - and it's a special one! Carl and Richard talk to Joel Hulen and Martin Costello about the release of Polly V8. Joel tells the story of Microsoft reaching out about Polly - because it is heavily utilized inside of Azure and at cloud scale, it needed further optimization. The results are a very high-performance library focused on resilience as a whole - with lots of smart defaults so that you can write even less code to have even more resilient applications!

Joel Hulen
Joel Hulen has more than 26 years of experience in the IT field, gaining expertise in a variety of disciplines ranging from systems engineering to cloud-based computing, and everything in between. He has focused on software development for over 20 years, developing and architecting software solutions for many platforms, from single-user devices to large-scale enterprise applications and services. His experience draws from supporting and enriching the software profile of financial services companies to the Department of Defense, NASA, as well as a range of businesses from small to large. Today, Joel is an international speaker, focusing on such topics as cloud architecture, serverless, data engineering, and AI. He also creates and delivers training on these topics to Microsoft employees and partners.
Martin Costello
Martin Costello is a .NET developer and tester as well as a Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies based near London in the UK. He currently works for Just Eat Takeaway.com as a Principal Software Engineer. He's a big fan of open source software and, as well as a maintainer of Polly, he's a community triager for the ASP.NET Core project in GitHub.
