Continuous Delivery 3.0 with Marcel de Vries and Rene van Osnabrugge
How do you do continuous deployment? While at Techorama in Belgium, Carl and Richard sat down with Marcel de Vries and Rene van Osnabrugge to talk about their efforts working with various customers trying to help them get further down the DevOps line of productivity. The conversation digs into the various elements that go into getting to continuous delivery, including a lot of conversation about automating testing - if you're going to build fast, you need to test fast too! Marcel also talks about feature toggling, giving operations the ability to turn features off and on to understand how they behave and improve software quality in the process. Lots to deploy!

Rene van Osnabrugge
At the age of 20 Rene van Osnabrugge graduated with a bachelors' degree in Business Economics – IT. Instead of moving towards the economic side of things he chose to have career in IT. He started as a Classic programmer and moved through different technologies throughout the years. Classic ASP, Coldfusion, Oracle Forms en PL/SQL and in 2002 started with ASP.Net. <br/><br/> In 2005, during the setup of a software factory in his current company he was a (very) early adopter of TFS 2005, even the beta versions. Because of the link of process and IT it was a matter of a few months before TFS had no secrets anymore. In close cooperation with Microsoft Netherlands Rene evangelized the product for many years by speaking on conferences and regular blogposts on his blog RoadToALM he became an Microsoft ALM MVP back in 2011 . <br/><br/> Currently Rene works as Lead ALM consultant at Xpirit in the Netherlands. He helps companies to improve their software process. Rene always looks broadly. So the way of work, the way people communicate, how scrum is applied are equally important to how tools like build servers, Visual Studio, source control etc are used. In the end it is all about the people and the process and not about the tool.
